What are square business cards?

Square business cards are cards with equal sides in a neat square shape. They stand out in hand and on a table, so people notice them quickly. Common sizes include 2.5 x 2.5 inches, with other options like 2 x 2 inches and 3 x 3 inches available from some printers.

What is the standard size?

The most used size for square business cards is 2.5 x 2.5 inches (6.35 cm x 6.35 cm). Many printers follow this size for easy ordering. Some brands also offer 63.5 mm x 63.5 mm prints, which is equivalent to 2.5 inches.

Do square business cards fit in a wallet?

Usually, no. Most wallets and card holders are designed for standard 3.5 x 2-inch cards, so square cards may not fit well. If wallet fit is important, it’s better to choose the standard rectangular size.

What are the pros and cons of square business cards?

Pros: They offer a fresh look, highlight logos well, and are easy to spot at events—perfect for bold brands. Cons: They may cost more to print, might not fit standard holders or wallets, and offer less space for text compared to rectangular cards.

Any design tips before printing square business cards?

Use at least 7pt font size for readability, limit designs to one or two fonts, and ensure images are 300 DPI for sharp printing. Confirm bleed and safe area requirements with your printer—commonly a 0.125-inch bleed on all sides—to avoid cutting issues.
